Is primarily perceived as a practice for
healing the body, it is also a method for healing
the mind, and spirit.
Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese word
meaning “universal life energy” universal life
energy flows through all of us (chakra), however this flow
of energy can become blocked during periods of
stress and illness.
Reiki is a healing energy in its truest sense,
simplistic yet powerful. A Reiki practitioner
channels life energy through their hands to the
recipient, restoring the flow of energy around the
body, with a gentle, yet firm hand placement this
activates the body’s natural ability to heal
itself. The energy goes to the deepest level of a
persons being, it works wherever the recipient
needs it most, releasing blocked energies and
working to create a state of balance. It
reinforces the recipient’s ability to take
responsibility for their own life, and help them
to make the necessary changes in attitude and
lifestyle to promote a happier and healthier life.
Reiki is a safe and natural system of healing,
suitable for men, women and children of all ages,
and does not conflict with any religion or belief.
Reiki works well with other complementary
therapies and orthodox medicine, treating many
acute and chronic conditions.
In the treatment room you will remain fully
clothed, either seated or lying on a massage
couch, with the practitioner placing their hands
in various positions on the body, releasing energy
blockages.
The effect of Reiki is not always immediate or
obvious, although for some people it can be
dramatic and instant. Many people experience a
sense of release, feeling calm, less
stressed,
overwhelming peace and a renewed sense of energy,
both during and after the treatment. Once you
experience Reiki, you may decide to learn the
techniques yourself.
