Complementary /alternative
therapies, is a term used for a wide range of
health care practices, that may be used alone
or along with standard medical treatment, for
improved health, well-being and quality of
life.
Although people often use the terms
complementary and alternative therapies
interchangeably, there is a difference:
Complementary therapies / medicine is a
non-standard treatment or medicine that you
use together with conventional medical
treatment or medicine.
Alternative therapies / medicine is a
non-standard treatment or medicine that you
use instead of conventional medical treatment
or medicine.
There are a wide range of therapies to choose
from: Acupuncture, Massage Therapy,
Reflexology, Homeopathy, to name a few. People
are turning to these therapies to treat a wide
variety of ailments and conditions, such as;
Arthritis, High Blood Pressure, Hormonal
Imbalances, Allergies and many more. Some of
these therapies work as well as conventional
medical treatments, they often have fewer side
effects.

person” approach of many of it’s
practitioners, which considers your
life-style, background, habits, in addition to
your physical health. This provides a more
complete health picture and a more effective
way to treat many ailments.
