The Aura
In addition to our physical anatomy, with its
systems of circulation, respiration , digestion
and so on, there exists a “subtle” or physic
anatomy. This Anatomy Is called the “Aura” The
Aura is a field of energy that surrounds the body
and is composed of three layers, the Ethereal, the
Astral and the Spiritual layer.
At times our Auras become unbalanced, to
understand the influence this has on our health
and well-being , we must return to oriental
traditions, in particular to their means of
understanding health and illness, which is
different to that of western society.
Oriental medicine has always considered health
as a state integral to the individual, and this
state, in its turn, as an energetic whole which,
to remain healthy, must maintain harmony in its
vibrations on the physical, emotional and mental
planes. In this discipline, any dysfunction or
illness is no more than a lack of the energy
balance between different planes and in
consequence, the cure must be effected by
re-establishing the equilibrium of the system.

The Physical Body |

|
The Ethereal Body
|
|
Emanates out about an inch from the physical
body. Its basic function is to receive
and transmit vital energy-life force known as
prana in Sanskrit, ki in Japanese. |
| |
|
The Astral Body
|
|
Extends a foot or more out around the body. It
relates to the individuals emotional state and
thought patterns and through this body we
sense the moods or Vibrations of other people.
Negative thinking or unresolved emotions can
filter down from this part of the Aura to the
Ethereal and Physical Bodies and manifest as
illness or disease. |

The Spiritual Body
|
|
Extends out still farther from the body is the
finest of the Aura, known as the
Spiritual body. This may extend from a few
feet to hundreds of yards, depending on the
spiritual evolution of the individual. |

Science rejected the idea of the aura for a very
long time, However, in the middle of the 20th
century, the Russian scientist, Semen Kirlian ,
using a new photographic technique, took an image
of his hand, surrounded by a luminous aura. It was
the first photograph of an aura. |
